Home More 31 March 2006 KATE PULLS OUT OF LIBEL CASE EXCLUSIVE By Fiona Cummins, Showbiz Reporter KATE Moss yesterday dramatically pulled out of a libel action over her cocaine abuse - landing herself with a £60,000 legal bill. The supermodel dropped her suit against Channel Five just 24 hours before a trial date was due to be set. Now Kate, 32, faces a nail-biting two-week wait to see if she will be charged with drug offences following separate revelations by the Daily Mirror. She sued the TV station over a documentary 15 months ago alleging she collapsed into a cocaine-induced coma. The Truth About Kate Moss claimed she fell ill after snorting vast quantities of the drug in Barcelona in 2001. TV bosses defended their programme on the basis that it meant she was a serious cocaine abuser. The film included a 90-second interview with Naomi Campbell's personal assistant, Rebecca White. Ms White said she took cocaine with mum of one Kate in a hotel bathroom and later revived her from the coma. What knife thug screamed as he chased dog and stabbed it 16 times By Richard Smith DRUNKEN Richard Kilcommons stabbed his pet labrador to death after chasing it, crying out: "Let's see how quick Bessy is! " In a sickening attack Kilcommons, 41, plunged a 7in kitchen knife 16 times into the devoted animal's back and sides as she yelped in agony. Four of the thrusts pierced the dog's lungs causing massive internal bleeding from which she died. The boss, who claimed he loved eight-year-old Bessy, later said he was so drunk he could not remember his cruel frenzy. Yesterday he was starting a 23-week jail term. Police said: "The jail sentence shows just how traumatic and disturbing this case was. This was a despicable attack on a defenceless animal." Kilcommons went berserk after turning up apparently drunk at his local pub, the Running Horse, in his home village of Littleton, Hants.
