Although it shares the aim of Mission Negra Hipólita in aiding the extremely poor, Misión Madres del Barrio’s main targets are young mothers.“With this mission, we want to give mothers in need a hand, and help homemakers without a fixed income,” said Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, The program is estimated to have an impact on some 200,000 women who will be receiving aid by the end of the summer.

According to President Chávez, the main reason the mission is focusing on mothers is because they have been traditionally taken for granted in society.

“These women [do] so much work ironing, washing, making food, cleaning and raising their kids,” Chávez said.

For many people the an-nouncement of this mission’s launch was met with a sigh of relief.

“Things are terrible over here.

We don’t have enough food and clothes for the children and my husband hasn’t had a job in a year,” said María Hernández, a mother of two who lives in the Caracas barrio of Petare.

Hopefully this thing [Misión Madres Del Barrio] will help us”, Hernández told The Daily Journal.

Chávez announced the program this past weekend in a rancho in the state of Vargas.

Although he did not provide specific information regarding the cost or the locations of the program, he did lay out the basic groundwork of the mission.

IR laws will motivate lazy, hungover workers: Tas boss

...ba href=/drug abuse/a/b and personal problems have dragged down productivity.

He expects the changes to motivate employees and lift his profits by up to 2 per cent.

Mr White says there is now an incentive for lazy, hungover or undisciplined workers to change their ways.

"Where they're not physically fit as what they should be, because of whatever they might have done the day before they came back to work, or the evening before they came back to work," he said.

"Where they're actually not performing to their ability, because of the activities that they've taken on outside of work." Mr White believes the threat of sacking will create a more productive culture at work and end his problems with unfit, unmotivated and hungover staff.

He has put his workers on notice, but does not think sackings will be needed.

"I can't actually see anybody there at the moment who is beyond reform all of us can change.

And you know, fair dinkum, I don't see anybody that ability." Landy literally took over the songwriter's life and monitored him 24 hours a day, the Times said.

He eventually became Wilson's manager and collaborator as well, which created a breach of ethics firestorm and ended up costing him his license to practice in California.

Wilson's family believed Landy's hold over the singer to be so strong they filed suit in 1991 to appoint an independent conservator to stop Landy from taking advantage of Wilson.

The suit was dropped after Landy agreed to stay away from Wilson for 90 days.

The pair decided to make the split permanent and Landy moved to Hawaii. Front Page UPI Page Want to use this article?
