Police Chief Gary J. Gemme has moved to revoke the man’s gun permit, citing state law he says gives him the discretion to determine the suitability of a person carrying a firearm. In September, the man was arrested for punching his wife, an incident the chief says makes him unsuitable under his new policy. But the charge was dismissed and the man sought reinstatement of his license.
