Stoudt joins appointees on the new task force that's charged with finding a way to track child abuse cases as they move through the courts.

Bexar County District Judge John Specia chairs the task force which also includes Texas Supreme Court Justice Harriett O'Neill, court clerk, college professors and a representative of the Texas Department of Family ad Protective Services.

"We've been charged to develop a plan for a uniform statewide computerized data system that will help judges track cases' progress, identify children that need attention and pinpoint sources of delay in court proceedings," Stoudt said.

Stoudt the panel will look for federal and national funding sources to help pay for the new program.

Symes aiding in Mexico murders probe Office of College Relations, Tuesday, March 28, 2006 Mercyhurst College forensic anthropologist Steven Symes, Ph.D., is spending March 26-31 in Ciudad Juarez, state of Chihuahua, Mexico, with the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team attempting to identify the remains of dozens of women among the hundreds who have been murdered in this border town since 1993.

Mexico's failure to solve or stop the murders of young women, mostly students or factory workers between 15 and 25 years of age, has brought worldwide condemnation, according to Symes, an international expert in sharp force trauma and faculty for Mercyhurst's pioneering new graduate program in forensic and biological anthropology.

According to Amnesty International, as of February 2005, 370 bodies had been found, and more are missing from this border city across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas.

In many cases, the women’s bodies showed signs of sexual abuse and mutilation.
