DUI crash victim confronts driver in Superior Court

...ba href=/drug abuse/a/b started even before Fello’s husband died.

“Ever since [Fello] was an adult, [her] record shows abuse of prescription drugs,” said Graves.

On the day of the accident with Harrigan, Fello was found to have three different drugs in her system, including OxyContin.

She had also drunk two beers that day before getting behind the wheel of a car with her child, said Graves.

And, he said, this was not the first time Fello endangered her child.

An accident involving alcohol in 2002 also listed the child as being in the car with Fello.

Graves sentenced Fello to drug counseling and rehabilitation, as well as more than three years imprisonment.

While Harrigan was relieved to have the judgment, she said nothing will stop her children from having nightmares about the accident or being afraid to get in the car.

Graves said the sentence will allow Fello to work her way out of jail, but extensive therapy through the Crest rehabilitation program will be necessary.

He also required Fello to pay Harrigan more than $4,000 in fines.

“A long time ago [Fello] chose a path and [she’s] been doing it for a long time” said Graves.

“If [she] doesn’t do something now, something worse will happen.” .
