Miami Herald Staff Report Allison Kreiger of Miami Beach was crowned Miss Miami Scholarship Pageant queen at a gala spectacular themed ''Jewels of Miami'' held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Miami earlier this month. The win gives Kreiger, 22, a shot at the Miss Florida crown and the opportunity to compete for the Miss America title. She will represent Miami at the Miss Florida Pageant which will be held in Miami on July 1-9. Tyesha Bradley, 24, a Miami Gardens resident, placed fourth in the March 10 pageant that drew two other contestants from the city: Chantel Reed, 17, and Lynesa Sweeting, 22. Others who placed among the top four were Kelly Foster, 22, first runner-up; Katie Mathews-Johnson, 19, second runner-up; and Annie Ward, 21, third runner-up. Other contestants were Theresa Justice, 21, and Bianca Knox, 18. Contestants competed in interview, talent, lifestyle and fitness, casual wear and evening gown segments. As Miami winner, Kreiger gets $1,000 in scholarship funds to attend a college or university of her choice, the official Miss America preliminary crown and trophy and a trip to Walt Disney World with hotel accommodations. Besides taking the Miami crown, Kreiger also won the talent award for her baton-twirling performance. Foster was named Miss Congeniality.
