Lisa Corrigan had decided that if she was to run faster she would have to eat less.

Calories were a dreadful obsession and the runner would balance her bony frame on the scales almost every morning.

By March 2006, Corrigan's weight was down to 43 kilograms and she was still running 140 kilometres a week.

Back then Corrigan didn't think she was too skinny.

Today, she realises she was well on her way to anorexia.

It took a while, too, for her coach, Dick Telford, to realise that Corrigan was fading away.

Around the tiny runner everyday, Telford admits it was hard to notice the gradual, yet dangerous, weight change in the girl he'd been coaching since she was 17.
