Her next court date is set for April 17.

Her son has been released to the custody of his father.

The boy is to appear in court April 19.

Police Chief Randall Sticha said Friday that authorities received a phone call Wednesday to help with a case involving narcotics on the school grounds.

"The police investigation revealed that the drugs had been allegedly placed in one student's backpack by another student," Sticha said.

Sticha and DuPage County State's Atty.

Joseph Birkett said Marmolejo had a personality conflict with the other woman.

Marmolejo told her son to put the drugs in the backpack, Sticha said.

"It is a parent's job to protect and provide for their children," Birkett said.
