Distress Centres of Toronto can be reached at 416-408-HELP (4357).QDuring a recent visit, I was perturbed by my father's relationship with the family dog. He lets crumbs fall in his crotch area and encourages the dog to jump up and grovel, poke, sniff and lick the crumbs off. I believe he's experiencing genital stimulation from this, and am thoroughly disgusted. I said loudly, "I wouldn't let the dog sniff ME like that," and my mum quietly added, "Neither would I." But my dad pretended not to hear. I don't want to visit again. Disgusted ADon't desert Mum, she needs support to counter this if it's happening often and intentionally. Mum needs to tell him firmly that it's disgusting to both of you — enough to stop your visiting them, which she can't accept. He must tell her what's motivating him. Perhaps their sex life needs discussion, perhaps he needs to talk to his doctor about sexual concerns. Maybe he just thinks it's funny. But the dog is neither a joke nor a solution to his needs. Tip of the Day: Children need to be assured that a divorce and its aftermath are not their fault.Email: ellie@thestar.ca. Fax: 416-814-2797. Parents and some doctors have doubts. By Kim Murphy, Times Staff Writer March 10, 2006 SHELKOVSKAYA, Russia — It started just after the midafternoon recess. As they lined up to return to class, Zareta Chimiyeva saw a girl in front of her collapse and begin convulsing wildly.
