Julie Deloughery, 40, who suffered from manic depression, killed herself on January 5, three months after doctors told her she was no longer mentally ill and encouraged her to return to work.

A back-to-work programme was arranged for Julie, which included upgrading her IT skills - but she did not feel able to cope.

She left these words: "I feel disconnected from this world.

I couldn't spend billions on space research whilst people are starving to death.

"The Government and the psychiatric service want me out to work - I don't feel able to do it.

"How do you keep ringing an employer and telling them you have panic attacks and yet another migraine?
