Rather than accepting Hamas as the legitimate democratic representative of the Palestinians, they are refuting Hamas’ legitimacy, and are applying political and economical pressures on Palestinians in an attempt to discredit Hamas and to pressure its leaders to give up their electoral program, to recognize the Zionist occupation of Palestine, and to succumb to the whims of the American and Israeli governments just as the previous Fatah Palestinian Authority had done for the last ten years.

The American administration (Israel’s protective white knight) was the first to criticize the democratically elected Hamas.

The administration does not acknowledge Hamas as freedom fighters fighting the Israeli occupation of their own land and retaliating against its terrorist army, but considers it a terrorist organization and thus refuses to deal with its leaders.

The administration demands that Hamas renounces terror (self-defense), disarm itself, and recognize Israel’s right to exist (on occupied Palestine) before it enters into any peace negotiations with them.

The administration also threatened to stop all its USAID to the Palestinians if Hamas formed a Palestinian government.

...ba href=/schizophrenia/a/b treatment is viewed as the company's biggest new drug hope - but Akzo and its partner Pfizer Inc (PFE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) are not currently scheduled to announce pivotal Phase III study results before the end of the year.

Pharmaceuticals head Toon Wilderbeek said Akzo recognised that investors needed some information about the drug's prospects if they were to make a rational decision on investing in the upcoming initial public offering (IPO).

"It's not very likely that people would like to invest in the company without having a little bit of better insight, so we will have to see how we can, together with Pfizer, come to a reasonable solution," he told reporters following an analysts' meeting in London.

Akzo said earlier that asenapine - which analysts estimate could generate peak sales of $1.5 billion to $2.0 billion a year - was progressing according to plan with a filing in the United States expected in early 2007, implying a launch in 2008.

The Dutch company plans to list up to 40 percent of its pharma operations through the IPO process.
