I wanted to commit suicide. I wanted to do drugs. But thank God I have friends who stopped me," said the San Bruno resident. Javier, who now lives with her aunt, is one of 31 students in San Mateo County who will be honored Thursday by the Family Service Agency of San Mateo County for triumphing over adversity at the 11th annual Winners Breakfast.
