It's a studio film from a script he didn't write, a sleek but familiar cat- and-mouse story with Clive Owen as the bank- robbing cat and Denzel Washington as the detective mouse. But while the film does not offer a Spike Lee vision, he manages to leave some fingerprints. The setting is his usual - fraught, multi-ethnic New York City - and even while focusing on the hostage-taking robber and the detectives, the movie glances at issues he has addressed more consistently and thoughtfully than any other ... Don't Lose Sleep Over Daylight Savings...ba href=/sleep/a/b patterns. The switch to daylight savings time affects all of us to a certain degree, and for some, adjusting to the time change is a serious issue. "Studies have actually shown a small - but significant - increase in the number of traffic accidents on the Monday immediately following daylight savings," explains Paul Selecky, M.D., board-certified ba href=/sleep/a/b specialist and medical director of Hoag ba href=/sleep/a/b Disorders Center. "Its because people are ba href=/sleep/a/b deprived." More critically, some ba href=/sleep/a/b disorders can lead to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke and other serious medical conditions. "That's why it's important for patients, especially those with chronic ba href=/sleep/a/b problems, to seek treatment from their physician or at a ba href=/sleep/a/b center," emphasizes Dr. Selecky. An accredited member of the American Academy of ba href=/sleep/a/b Medicine since 1987, Hoag ba href=/sleep/a/b Disorders Center is a pioneer in evaluating and treating adults, adolescents, and children with ba href=/sleep/a/b disorders in its state-of-the-art facility. AROUND THE TABLE...ba href=/sleep/a/bing bags on the living room floor? They giggled and wiggled until ba href=/sleep/a/b overcame them, allowing Santa Claus time to arrive and stack packages under the fragrant Christmas tree, full of twinkling lights and tinsel.Dear Sister Millie, my heart is heavy and crying because I shall miss you so. But I know you will be with me.I also know that life was a bit more of a tug after your dissecting aorta, which only5 percent of people survive. You were allowed four more years, which you lived to the fullest, thanking the Lord each morning for “one more day.”Dearest Millie, you were a beautiful tow-headed child, chasing little ducks, washing them and treating them - you “little nurse,” who grew up instead to be a fabulous elementary school teacher, creative artist, expert potter throwing clay, gourmet cook, friend to many and sister to five in a vibrant household. This spring, my Elizabeth Taylor beauty, I'll remember you and Mom as the robins return and I pick lilies of the valley along the garden walk. And this summer as I sit on one of those white adirondack chairs you will be there with me as the sun dances on the gentle waves as they hit the beach.Olga Gize Carlile is a columnist for The Journal-Standard.
