Nine years ago she was headhunted to Singapore by a global advertising agency to work with Japanese clients.

It was her dream job, but Fumi asked herself: where to next?

"I am the kind of person who needs a sense of purpose, a vision as to where I am heading.

I need to feel that I am making a contribution, and I need to be challenged all the time.

The new position was stimulating and wonderful, but I was doing 16-21 hours a day, six days a week.

I was compromising on my values at work, my health was deteriorating, and I had no time with my family although they were living in the same city.

It just didn't make sense." Everyone around her was clinging to their jobs in the face of a major downsizing trend, but Fumi decided it was now or never; "So I just had to jump.

People thought I was mad." "I started taking the alternative therapy course purely for my own interest, absolutely not as a career choice.

I got more and more interested as I studied and now I feel very strongly that this is my new path.

It is my life's work - I love it, I live and breathe it day and night, I continue to learn every day.
