Flowers has an extensive athletic background, which includes winning five national championships in track and field before attending UCLA, where he was a PAC-10 champion and All-American hurdler and sprinter.

During his three years as an assistant track-and-field coach at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, he helped the men's and women's track-and-field teams win their first five conference championships in school history.

BIOMECHANICS, MOVEMENT AND INJURY PREVENTION - UC Davis biomechanist David Hawkins is interested in understanding what influences skeletal muscle performance and human movement.

His work at the UC Davis Human Performance Laboratory aims to develop tools and training strategies that can assist people who have musculoskeletal disorders, as well as prevent injury and maximize athletic performance.
