In their response to the White Paper on Further Education earlier this week, several of the bodies responsible for different parts of the FE sector still had veiled criticisms of the bureaucratic systems in place and the burden that this places upon frontline education providers. In a bid to meet this problem, the LSC have now announced their new national and regional structure, which has seen them cutting approximately a quarter of the jobs in the LSC. LSC ‘Agenda for Change’ Speaking at the announcement in September 2005 of the agenda for change, the restructuring programme for the LSC, the Chief Executive Mark Haysom said: “We needed to transform ourselves into a smaller, more dynamic customer facing organisation better able to make decisions locally and regionally with better support at a national level.” Mr. Haysom went on to express his p... TEMPE, Ariz. - It all makes so much sense now, that Mike Scioscia and his infusion of Brotherly Love was the perfect fit to manage the Angels. The Philadelphia-area native is heading into his seventh season as the Angels' head man, compiling a 520-452 (.535) record along the way with a World Series triumph to his credit when the team won 99 games during the regular season. But what has happened most under Scioscia's tenure is that the Angels have seemed to permanently move from out under the shadow of the Dodgers and even establish themselves as a fixture on the national sports landscape. The Angels have always had their following, but it was the Dodgers who made the three million attendance figure a familiar event. That is, until Scioscia came along. Last season, the Angels drew a franchise-best 3,404,686 fans. The Dodgers were the ones with the World Series rings, including two earned when Scioscia was a player. Since Scioscia arrived as manager, the Angels have one title to the Dodgers' zero. They have 15 postseason victories and three appearances since Scioscia came along.
